Nov 21. The government does not rule out offering special-purpose subsidies under natural monopoly tariffs to a number of industries, first vice PM Igor Shuvalov said Thursday. "As regards subsidies for certain categories, the decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. For the time being, we do not know for sure what industries are at issue" – Shuvalov said. He pointed out that benefits will cover businesses that "are under the heaviest pressure from the tariff plan (an increase of 2009 natural monopoly tariffs)". The government plans to adopt a final decision on industries to be supported, including through tariff subsidization, by December 5. All decisions relating to state support in every possible form should also be adopted by this date, Shuvalov noted.
